In addition, vitamin C acts as an antioxidant and is essential for promoting healing of worn and torn tissues and cells.  The recommended daily dose of vitamin E and vitamin C is 400 IU and 60 mg respectively. The important sources of vitamin E is considered to be vegetable oils, wheat germ, nuts, soya beans and raw seeds etc. whereas good sources of vitamin C are considered to be citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables.
