How to Identify and Prevent Eyebrow Hair Loss?

by DHI India Hair Transplant Doctors/Clinics in Chennai

The war to keep eyebrows groomed and in shape has become more intense than the war between vampires and werewolves, ever since Kim Kardashian has made thick eyebrows a rage amongst women. As a result, your eyebrows are now always under the scanner of self-proclaimed style icons whenever you step out. Amid all of this, imagine losing eyebrow hairs. It is worse than a nightmare. Isn’t it?

You start doing everything to stop it. From filling your eyebrows desperately with an eyebrow pencil to trying anything random your internet advises you to. All in vain. Hold your breath for a while. Think about it patiently. Figure out why you are losing your eyebrow hair in the first place. Only then can you prevent eyebrow hair loss properly. Let’s discuss a few causes of eyebrow hair loss below:

  • Over plucking eyebrows and doing it on your own

There are times when we pluck our eyebrows ourselves to avoid those long painful threading sessions at a salon. But what we do not realize is that we are not as good as professionals. So when we pluck those eyebrow hairs ourselves, we knowingly or unknowingly inflict harm to hair follicles. We damage them permanently preventing them from producing new hairs later.

  • Hair fall due to skin conditions

There are a variety of skin conditions (i.e. psoriasis, eczema etc.) that cause itching, redness, and inflammation around your eyebrow area. Scratching the affected skin can cause hair fall over time.

  • Thyroid condition

Thyroid glands are responsible for many body functions. Any disruption in their functioning can cause a number of health problems including hair fall in the eyebrow area. You can treat thyroid problem with medicines. However, there is no guarantee if you will be able to regrow your eyebrow hair.

  • Lack of nutrients

Lack of nutrients such as protein, vitamins, and healthy fats can also make your eyebrow hair fall. So have a healthy balanced diet always to avoid hair fall.

  • Age

You are also likely to lose hair as you grow old.

  • Stress

Stress is one of the most common reasons behind hair loss in the eyebrow area. Telogen Effluvium is one such condition that causes hair fall from the eyebrow area.

Since you are now familiar with the factors behind eyebrow hair loss, let’s now discuss ways to prevent hair loss from your eyebrow area. Here we go:

  • Castor oil massage

Apply some castor oil in the eyebrow area and massage gently for a couple of minutes. Leave the oil as it is for about 20-40 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. Castor oil is one of the most effective remedies for hair growth. It nourishes hair from the root.

  • Olive oil massage

Heat some olive oil and massage with it on the affected area gently for a couple of minutes. Leave it as it is for around 30 minutes before washing it off. Vitamin E present in olive oil is very healthy for hair.

  • Aloe vera gel massage

Aloe vera gel has essential moisturizing properties that keep your hair nourished. Apply aloe vera gel to your eyebrow area and massage it for some time before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

  • Apply some milk

It is a great option for those who cannot drink milk. Apply some milk on the affected area and you are good to go. Milk is one of the best sources of healthy proteins. It helps in hair growth.

So if you are facing hair loss problems in the eyebrow area, then you know what you have to do. Remember, your beauty is incomplete without your eyebrows so keep an eye on them.
