How To Grow Spirit for Getting More of What You Want

by Nuhin Nabil lifesimile
If you're like the majority of individuals, you've been taught that you must know how you plan to do anything. I all, it's only wishful thinking to imagine you can do anything without understanding how right?

Although project plans, to-do lists, and 'next steps are all essential in their own right, we frequently let our lack of understanding of 'how' to do anything get in the way of our goals.

How To Grow Spirit

We give up on the 'what' simply because we don't know how (yet), and if you're like most people, you'll understand precisely what I mean! This is how it usually goes for the majority of people:

You unexpectedly get a brilliant idea, such as taking your family on a vacation, learning to play the guitar, or starting a new business. Allow yourself to get carried away and envision what it might be like... until the 'oh-so-good' sensation transforms into that all-too-familiar sinking feeling of disappointment as reality sets in and you start thinking things like...

'I can't afford to take my family on vacation since I don't have enough money.' 'I don't even have a guitar, and I don't know where to find a good instructor, and I don't have the time to go to lessons.' 'I don't even have a guitar, and I don't know where to find a decent teacher, and I don't have the time to go to lessons.'

'I have no idea how to start a business; I don't even know where to start!' And it's unlikely to work anyhow... we're in the middle of a recession, so I'm probably better off just keeping my head down and getting on with it.' That is not something that people like me get to do...'

If you're like most people, that'll be the end of the concept of mental strength; you've just let the fear of not understanding how to get in the way or prevent you from even trying.

Of course, this is a genuine option, since you, like everyone else, have free will over how you conduct your life.

Perhaps you convince yourself that's alright, it's not a big issue, it was just a ridiculous notion anyhow; no, things are good the way they are; after all, who needs a vacation, guitar lessons, or a job they love anyway?

However, the longer you let your aspirations be pushed to the side because you don't know how to put them into action, the more unhappy you will become. You may first dismiss it or fail to recognize it, but severe dissatisfaction will ultimately lead you to...

To escape the agony, you may overeat, drink, smoke, or work excessively. You may also feel lonely, empty, sad, irritated, or nervous. You may also get stressed or unwell.

The reason for this is that your soul and its aspirations will not be denied, and you will suffer as a result until you pay heed to your deepest longings and desires.

The good news is that, contrary to what you may have been told, you can never know how your dreams will come true, therefore you don't have to!

Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Jim Carrey, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, and Steve Jobs - none of them understood how to make their goals come true, but they all knew what they wanted.

When you consider the challenges they (and millions of others) faced, I believe it's safe to conclude that many individuals would have given up on their aspirations.

They didn't do it.

Here are some fundamental truths. You never know who you'll meet, who you'll cross paths with, or what possibilities may present themselves.

Despite your best intentions and belief that you know what will happen next, the truth is that you can't predict the future and can't predict what will happen next; you don't (and can't) know if you'll run into a long-lost friend, be presented with a dream opportunity, or have an idea that will make you wealthy - these things happen to people from all walks of life all over the world all the time.

Looking at things from the opposite side of the coin, you've surely had plenty of instances where, despite your best efforts and preparation, things simply did not go as planned, right?

The good news is that not only is it impossible for you to know how things will turn out, but it's also not your duty to know how; your only job is to know what you want, and the "hows" will be handled by the universe as leadership traits.

Consider this on a practical level: we can all use electricity, cars, and mobile phones without having to know how they collaborate, and we don't think it's strange; it takes about 300 muscles to move your leg - there's no way you can know how to do it, but you do it many times a day without even thinking about it (if you're able-bodied).

Insisting on understanding how things work is a little like a 2-year-old helping their mother bake a cake: it's lovely and wonderful, but it doesn't help!

Take away

Keep your concentration on WHAT you want and let go of HOW it will happen. Remind yourself that every time your mind tries to crush your aspirations, passions, focus, and hopes because you don't know how something will happen, it's because you don't know how it will happen.

It's not your responsibility to understand that you can't understand; your only duty is to be crystal clear about what you desire.
