As we all know, Adobe Photoshop is a photo editing software and Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing software but both can be used together. Photoshop mainly used for edit, retouch and modify still images whereas Premiere Pro is used for edit videos.

Uses of Adobe Premiere Pro

     Croma cutting: In adobe premiere pro, you can cut the green or blue background from the image or video.

     Edit video and audio: Yes, it is the video editing software but you can edit video and audio both in it. There are lots of videos effects and transitions that can be added in the footages,

     Make slideshow: You can make image slideshow in this software by using different images.

     Mashups: As it is a great tool for editing. So, you can make mashups of songs and dialogues.

     Audio and video synchronization: You can match or synchronize multiple audios or videos automatically or manually.

     Edit frames: In adobe photoshop, you can edit individual frames of video and image sequence. You can edit the frames by applying filters, masks, transformations, layer styles, and blending modes, etc.

If you want to paint the frames then there are various tools in photoshop to use like: clone stamp, Pattern Stamp, Healing Brush tool, and Spot healing brush tool, etc. After making edits you can save them as a PSD file and can render it as a quick time.

     Import Photoshop file: You can import PSD files directly in Adobe premiere pro and edit as you want. Make slideshow or use PSD files in video.

Steps of importing PSD files in Adobe Premiere Pro are:

  1. Go to file > import
  2. Locate and select PSD files
  3. Click open
  4. Then you have two options to choose i.e import as footage and sequence. Use footage if you want to use image repeatedly and use sequence if you want to use your file as a sequence.
  5. Then you have layer options of choosing layer and merge layer. If you select on choose layer then you can choose the selected layer and if you choose to merge layer then all the layers get merged in one sequence.

     Frame

You can make attractive frames in Adobe Photoshop and use them in Adobe premiere pro in images or videos.

     Backgrounds

By using Photoshop, you can make backgrounds on different themes and give motion in Adobe Premiere Pro.

     Cut - out

Suppose, you want to make image slideshow in Adobe Premiere Pro and you have to use image having no background then you can make the cut out of the image in adobe photoshop.

It is good if you use these software together. If you have knowledge of photo editing software with video editing software then it increases career options for you.
