How to Get Floods of Free Traffic to Your Website Using a Free Traffic Generator

by Matt Dickson Internet Marketing Mastermind

Using a free traffic generator for your blog or website used to be simple although that was back when few people embarked on such adventures. Now, everyone or close to it has their own website, their own blog and it seems that we are all ‘experts’ in just about any niche. Free traffic generator ideas abound but thankfully not everyone has caught on to some of the simple techniques and skills which, when implemented properly, can soar your traffic highly effectively and quickly. To increase traffic and continue to keep your visitors engaged, here are some easy and subtle ways to keep the traffic flowing to your site.

Write an Interesting ‘List’ Article as a Free Traffic Generator

Your website or blog has a lot of competition so finding ways to provide interesting and unique content can be a tedious, albeit necessary task. Those looking for fresh content will scour tens of hundreds of articles and sites, but you have a limited amount of time to catch their roving eye.

Readers live a hurried existence and they want their information spoon fed to them quickly. One way to create a free traffic generator is to develop articles that are not just informative but "Top Lists". Top 5’s and Top 10’s (or however many) are addictive to readers because they give a lot of information quickly in an easy to read format. Therefore, they can digest the information at a high rate, take from it what they need and go about their day.

Other tricks to great articles are to watch how they are formatted. Journalism 101 will teach you that readers prefer shorter articles to longer ones because length can easily overwhelm even the savviest reader. Keep your paragraphs short and concise and the articles around 600 words or less. Writing never ending articles will risk losing your reader, not to mention if the most pivotal information is at the end your reader may never get there.

Use bullets for some articles as they are easy on the eye and are read quickly. Keep the most up to date and pertinent information towards the top of the article or list. And while fancy text may look debonair, it is hard for some to read (especially those who are visually impaired) so stick with black text in a minimum of 12 pt. font.

Use SEO as A Free Traffic Generator

You will want to incorporate SEO so those conducting searches will find you but do so craftily. Much of SEO writing is so garbled and market driven that your audience quickly bores of it. When creating SEO for your sites avoid using lengthy or complicated titles. People use simplistic language when searching for material and if your title is hard to spell it probably won’t be seen; the same goes for long titles which will be overshadowed by shorter and direct titles in the same niche.

Also avoid lengthy sub-links and navigation links. For the less than savvy tech person these will be nothing but clutter and will also be confusing. The links that you do include should be chosen carefully and checked often. Broken or non-existent links are irritating to readers and they won’t hang around long if they can’t get to where they want quickly.

Simplify your SEO site for free traffic generation and compartmentalize it frequently so visitors and generated traffic can find what they are looking for easily. And these articles and links should be updated frequently. Visitors will soon grow tired of regurgitated material that can be found on any other site.

Renovate Your Blog Design

The design you chose for your blog or website will play a key role as a free traffic generator. Each design should be pleasing to the eye and you should continue to maintain it often to keep it chic and modern.  The design and page should also be functional and easy to navigate.

Much care should be taken when designing your blog particularly when it comes to your heading. The heading should be bold, in easy to read text and with some color. The header is the first thing visitors see and it lets them know the overall consensus of what material will be posted throughout.

Using Photoshop or other graphics programs can help spice up your blog or website. If you aren’t privy to how these programs work, find someone who is or consider hiring a professional to incorporate some images; it is well worth the money spent. Pros are also great at adding coding or search engine graphics and logos to your site which will also increase traffic.

The remainder of your time should be spent compartmentalizing your site or blog so that readers can clearly identify where to go to find what they are seeking.  Successful and popular blogs usually have one or two columns that are centered and then side columns with additional information, links and videos. These areas should be simplistic as overcomplicated areas and links will jeopardize losing visitors.

Creativity has a place in blogging but be wary of being too artistic. Fancy fonts are hard to read and although they may look cute, they aren’t always practical. Most bloggers use a 15 pt font because they are easily read even in italics.

Create Valuable Content

Regardless of your niche, generating traffic will rest wholly on the material and content you offer. Great content is a powerful free traffic generator. Old news is never good news so keep your content engaging and fresh, with a concentration on whatever is new but still relatable to your topics. Visit and spy on other blogs to see what’s hot and then find a way to spin that same topic by adding lesser known material to it.

This may mean momentarily gearing your articles to a smaller market but in the end your traffic will still increase. Tapping into vital (even if smaller) niches is a great way to create a buzz about your site because you are treading new waters.

And check everything you plan to publish before you actually link it to your site. Blogs and websites that contain grammatical errors, misspelled words, or worse, use words in improper contexts will give your site a bad reputation and readers are unforgiving.

Build Relevant Backlinks

The more backlinks you create on your page, the better it is especially if SEO optimization is to flourish and it’s a great way to promote your site. Backlinks to relevant websites is a great free traffic generator. Making your presence known on social media forums and in online directories is the easiest way to create and post backlinks. Using a good back linking tool can be invaluable as such tools will help find relevant and fresh niches and content that will be relatable to the content you publish.

You can also affiliate yourself with popular RSS feeds as well as join forces with things like Google Ads which will generate traffic quickly.

Avoid back linking to spamming sites. Not only will word travel quickly but you will turn off current visitors as well as any potential visitors. So focus on a free traffic generator back-linking strategy that will grow your website traffic.
