Solution 1: Unmount And Then Mount SD Card


Step 1: On your Android phone open the “Settings” app and then go to “Storage” and hit on the “Unmount external storage” option.

Solution 2: Reinsert SD Card On Your Phone


Step 1: First you need to Power OFF your Android device and then put out the SD card from it.

Step 2: After that switch on your smartphone and open Settings.

Step 3: Then go to Storage to check that your SD memory card is taken out from your phone.

Step 4: Now, again switch off your phone and insert the SD card to its slot.

Step 5: After that switch on your phone and the error message is coming or not.


Solution 3: Format Your SD Card


If your external SD card is not formatted then your phone keeps saying SD card unexpectedly removed. So to solve this error you should format your SD card.


Note: Formatting the SD card will wipe all your data that is saved on the SD card. So, you must first backup all the valuable data from your SD card.


Now, follow the below steps to format the SD card to fix the SD card issue.


Step 1: First Unmount SD card and then take out the SD card from your phone.

Step 2: Now, insert the SD card to the card reader and then connect it to your computer.

Step 3: After that open File Explorer on your computer and right-click on the SD card.

Step 4: Next, select the Format option to proceed.

Step 5: After that specify the File system, Allocation unit size, and check the Quick Format.

Step 6: Click on the Start button to proceed future.

Step 7: Now, you will get the warning message of losing data from the SD card. Simply click on the OK button to being the format process.


Once the process gets completed, you can access the formatted SD card in Windows. Now, you can insert the SD card on your smartphone and see the issue is fixed or not.


Note: Sometime, Windows will show you "Windows was unable to complete the format" and at that time you can’t format your SD card.

Solution 4: Wipe Cache Partition In Recovery Mode


You can also get rid of SD card has been removed by wiping the cache partition in recovery mode. Doing this will not erase your data from your device therefore you should try this method without thinking of data loss.


Here, follow the steps to wipe the cache partition in Recovery mode.


Step 1: Switch OFF your device and then press and hold together Home, Volume Up, and Power buttons.

Step 2: When you feel the vibration of your phone then release the Power button but keep holding the rest two buttons.

Step 3: When the “Android System Recovery” screen appears on the screen then release both buttons.

Step 4: Now, scroll down using the Volume Down button to select the “Wipe Cache Partition” option.

Step 5: After the press, the Power button until “Reboot System Now” gets selected.

Step 6: Now, to wipe cache partition again press the Power button.
