How to Fix McAfee Internet Security’s Installation Issues?

A failed installation issues can cause the software problem which is hard to find out. But you need to find out or follow certain steps to remove the common glitches that can cause the issue.

Check out the certain steps as shown below-

Ø  Close all the other software programs that are running in the background

Follow the steps-

1.      Press Ctrl + Alt keys on the keyboard and press Delete key for once.

2.      Click on the ‘End task’ for every item on the list except Explorer.

3.      Repeat the steps again and again until you have closed all the windows except Explorer.

4.      Click on the ‘Cancel’ option only after you are left with Explorer in the Close Program dialog box.

 

Ø  Delete the temporary files

Follow the steps-

1.      Click on the ‘My Computer’ icon on the desktop.

2.      Select the ‘C: drive’ to see the contents in your hard drive.

3.      Choose the ‘Windows folder’.

4.      Select the ‘Temp folder’.

5.      Click on the ‘Edit’ option in the menu as well as the option ‘Select all’.

6.       Press on the ‘Delete’ key on your keyboard.

7.      In case, Windows ask for the confirmation for the same, press ‘Yes’.

8.      Select the ‘Start’ option in the Windows taskbar.

9.      Click on the ‘Shut down’ option.

10.   Select ‘Restart’ the computer option and choose ‘yes’ option in the confirmation dialog box.

 

Ø  Wipe your hard drive

You need to run the hard drive utilities like ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter to fix the issue in your system hard drive.

Follow the steps for ScanDisk-

1.      Select on the ‘Start’ option in the taskbar.

2.      Click on the ‘Programs’ > ‘Accessories’ > ‘System tools’.

3.      Choose the ‘ScanDisk’.

4.      Select the ‘Standard and automatically’ fix errors.

5.      Click on the ‘Advanced’ option. Select the following settings-

·         Only, if errors found.

·         Replacing.

·         Delete.

·         Free.

6.      Skip the other options and select the ‘Ok’ option.

7.      ScanDisk will start scanning on your hard drive for errors.

8.      Close the ‘ScanDisk’ after it completes its tasks.

Follow the steps for Desk Defragmenter-

1.      Select the ‘Start’ option on the Windows’ taskbar.

2.      Click on the ‘Programs’ > ‘Accessories’ > ‘System tools’

3.      Choose the ‘Disk Defragmenter’.

4.      To start with the Disk Defragmenter, click on the ‘Ok’ option.

5.      Close the ‘Disk Defragmenter’ after it is done with the task.
