HOW TO FIX COMMON ISSUES ON GOOGLE HANGOUTS?

Google Hangouts is one of the great apps for video meetings and chats with your colleagues and friends. But there are several issues in it like sound issues, webcam not working, and video problem, etc. So, if you wish to know these fixes, then here are the directions given below.

Fix Notification Sound Issue

Firstly, launch the application and select the hamburger icon on the upper section of the display.
After that, select the Settings option and later choose the main account name.
Beneath the Notification tab, choose the Messages option, and launch Sound Settings.
Now, the notification sound is already set into “Default notification sound.”
Then invoke the section and modify the alert tone.
If you would like to solve this issue by incoming calls, then redo the same instructions once gone into the Notification field then choosing Incoming calls instead of Messages.

Fix Webcam

While video calling, mostly users notice that their camera is not working correctly. Normally, the application gets stuck on the “camera is starting” text. You can try clearing the cache and temporary files or even reattaching the webcam. If in the end even a restart does not fix the issue, then you should wait for the next software update.

Fix Green Screen Problem

You should launch the Chrome and select the vertical ellipsis menu icon on the upper right section of the display.
Thereafter, launch the Settings screen.
Afterward, move down then browse for ‘Use hardware acceleration where available’ and turn off this feature.
Optionally, on the Chromebook, input ‘chrome://flags’ inside it.
Now, move down and browse for ‘Hardware-accelerated video encode’ to tur it off.

Remove Hangouts Data and Cache on Mobile

Navigate to the Settings and then choose App and notifications option.
After that, select the All apps option.
Then move down or browse for Hangouts.
You should select the ‘Search and cache and choose Clear cache or Clear storage.

Remove Hangouts Data and Cache on Chrome

Firstly, launch Chrome and select the vertical ellipsis menu icon.
Then click on the ‘More tools’ option and then select the ‘Clear browsing data’ option.
Go to the ‘All-time’ option and select it.
You should mark the boxes of ‘Cached images and files’ and ‘Cookies and other site data.’
Now, click on the Clear data option.
