How to Fill National Talent Search Exam Application Form

NTSE is the most prestigious and oldest running scholarship in India conducted by National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It is awarded to the students who are in class 11, 12 and pursuing their UG and PG courses in Science and Social Sciences till doctoral level. It is conducted in India since 1964. From 350 students participating in NTSE scholarship in 1964 to 3Lakhs plus participants in 2014 it has become the largest scholarship scheme in India. Participants are shortlisted from across the India from all the states and awarded with Rs 1250 monthly to the student pursuing class 11 and 12 and Rs. 2000 to the students in UG, PG and Doctoral courses.

NTSE Examination is conducted all over India in search of the talented individuals on the basis of academic and Intellectual abilities and to provide the financial aid to them for the period of two years if he /she follows the norms decided by the council. It is awarded on the merit basis to the 2000 shortlisted students across the country pursuing the prescribed courses; NCERT can terminate the scholarship program at any time if student is found to be not following the norms of the scholarship program.

Participants are shortlisted on the basis of the examination conducted by NCERT in Stage 1(State Level) and Stage 2(National Level) of which qualified candidates are shortlisted and rewarded with the scholarships. Stage 1 examination is conducted by state government whereas Stage 2 examinations are conducted by the NCERT. To be eligible for the scholarships participants have to firstly fill the NTSE Application form which will be available online on the official websites. Generally registrations for National Talent Search Examinations begin in July and examination is conducted in November.

Students applying for the scholarships have to fill the application form available online or they can get the application form from the Liaison Officer of their respective state. Candidate must note that there is a different last date of submission for different state and it I advised to the student to confirm the last date of submission and the address of submission of application by their respective State Liaison officer (State wise Liaison Officers contact details are given on the official website of NCERT). 

Fully filled NTSE application form is to be signed by the principal of the school/college in which candidate is enrolled before the submission. Participants must note that there is a 4 digit code available on the application form which is to be remained blank as it will be filled by the respective Liaison Officer of the state.After filling up of the application form correctly and carefully application fees are to be paid along with the submission of the application form for the stage 1 examination. Fees for the NTSE Application form are to be decided by the state/Union Territory government whereas no fees are to be charged by the participants for the second stage of the examination.
