As the corona virus is spreading, we are hearing about how to take care of ourselves if we get sick. These advices are important but it is more important to prepare our body to fight against the virus. This can be done by boosting immunity.

Our immune system helps in fighting off sickness and viruses .It gets affected by many modern days’ things like stress, toxins, lack of exercise and unhealthy habits like not washing your hands before having meal.

Since the corona virus is spreading it is important to strengthen your immune system. You can do it by including some habits in your day to day life.

Here are some essential steps which can help you to fight against corona virus.

1.         Reduce Stress

When you are stressed your body produces a stress hormone which affects the immune system. So, it is important to reduce stress. To reduce stress, you should ensure to have a decent work life balance, take some needed break and practice pranayama.

2.         Take a sound sleep

Many of us are constantly exhausted but many times we stay awake even if our body wants us to sleep thus we increase stress and hurt our immunity. Taking caffeinated drinks to avoid sleep effects the immune system.  As sleeping is essential to rebuild immune system, we need to let ourselves sleep as much as we need.

3.         Taking immune boosting Supplements

To support your immune system you can start having immune supporting foods like citrus fruits, garlic, broccoli and spinach. If you already have a weakened immune system you should take supplements which contains proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and specific kinds of proteins called antibodies that fight disease-causing agents such as bacteria and viruses.

4.         Reduce Inflammatory Diet

Sugar, processed meat, vegetable oils and alcohol are inflammatory foods they engage the immune system and leave the other problem unaddressed. That is why it can be helpful to remove these inflammatory foods if you want a healthy immune system.

5.         Stay away from toxins

Toxins have negative effects on immune system .So try to minimize the use of chlorinated drinking water, pesticides, aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g., air fresheners), heavy metals, air pollution, and food additives.

By following these steps we can prevent ourselves and loved ones from corona virus.
