How To Ensure That Your Blog Is Never Penalized By Google

by Naren S. Freelancer Blogger
If you own a site, you know what SEO stands for and how important it is to invest in it. SEO helps your site rank high in the searches for your relevant keywords, bringing your potential clients face to face with your products or services. But SEO is not enough to rank high in Google search engine. To be more precise, your SEO practices need to comply with Google's regulations. Penguin and Panda are probably the most notorious Google updates which ruined all the SEO efforts of thousands if not millions of site owners. When your SEO actions don't meet the Google guidelines, your site might be penalized, which results in a drop in the rankings.
Staying away from the danger of a penalization is easier than you might think, so here are some ways to ensure that your blog is never penalized by Google.

Create valuable content

Under this simple phrase there are many things to know. Valuable content is content that attracts your audience and is relevant for them. One of the first things you have to be aware of is not to post duplicates, as this is one major red flag for Google. Creating valuable content is not an easy fix; it will take time and lots of work to do it, but it's also never going to go “out of fashion” in Google updates.

Write long and informational articles, adding links to authority sites, so when someone reads your articles, he or she gets the complete information on the topic.

Get links from relevant sites

Backlinks are another delicate matter for Google. Each blog or site needs to have relevant backlinks, even if they are not as valuable for growing your ranking as they used to be. When a site has backlinks from random sites, which have little of nothing to do with the site's niche, Google is going to penalize it.

Make sure your links are high quality

Where a link comes is not the only thing that matters for Google: the quality of the link also matters a lot. Spammy link or links from low quality sites are going to drag you own site down and might even lead to a penalization. To avoid this, check the links and remove the low quality ones with Google Webmaster Tools.

Don't use keyword rich anchor text

Just months ago using keyword rich anchor text for your backlinks was a great thing to do for your ranking. But now, if you want to please Google, you should be avoiding this and start using natural anchor text. The latest Google updates see keyword rich anchors as being forced and disturbing for the reader, thus, they penalize them.

Use different combinations of the keywords and synonyms, as this will make Google recognize your authority.

Go mobile

This one will sound strange, but Google now looks for sites that provide better user experience for their audience and nowadays this means a responsive design. As more than 50% of all the Google traffic comes from mobile sources, such as smartphones and tablets, having a mobile version of your website is going to grow your ranking. The easiest thing to do is to use a responsive design, which adjusts to the device, so your readers get the best experience.

Build your brand

One of the best ways to avoid a penalization from Google is to build your brand online. Start small and work your way up in time. Brands are less likely to be penalized, even if they have small faults in their activities. And, in the event of a penalization, a brand will find it easier to recover.

Building your brand online requires a well designed site compatible with mobile devices, an engaged social media audience and backlinks.

On your site you need to have contact details, a physical address and a logo, as well as valuable, long and informative articles. Adding a blog to your site is a great way to ensure you will have new content at all times.

On social media you have to have an engaged audience. This audience needs to be real, so don't try to increase the number of your followers by using black hat techniques.

As for backlinks, the more people search your brand name, the higher you will rank for Google. In order to have people search your brand name, you have to establish your reputation and build trust online. If your readers trust you, so will Google.
