Forget 2020 for a moment. It was a tough year, no doubt, but you overcame all of the obstacles. Now, you're ready to promote your new business in 2021. You'll be in good standing. Statistics show there are close to 31 million small businesses in the United States. Each one of these has gone through growing pains at one time or another. They've gotten past the worst of them by elevating their game. You need to do the same thing for 2021. TO help out, here are few tips to move your business to the next level come January 1st.

Increase Your Focus On eCommerce

If you didn't increase your online presence in 2020, then you're behind the game. More than any time in history, eCommerce became the big player in sales during the year. In fact, some small businesses moved away from brick-and-mortar operations to exclusively utilize an online platform. This isn't hard to do. Establishing a website or a digital store on a site like Shopify gives your business a huge boost. Customers will consider you technically savvy for doing so. In turn, you can see an increase in clients and revenue.

Utilize Social Media

Social media still has a large impact on businesses. It might seem people ignore ads they constantly scroll through, but they are making an impression. What makes people really sit up and take notice is when you regularly post. You don't have to do this several times a day. A few well-placed items that relate to your business work. Also, they don't have to be about your products or services. Use content generators to find material that you find interesting. This can do more than social media ads.

Increase Your Physical Space

There's a good chance you started the business from your home computer. As it grew, you required more space to handle employees and inventory. Now, things are getting cramped. This can affect your productivity in a big way. To correct this, think about renting a space away from your home. You can find an office space for lease in Omaha or your particular locale. Plenty of companies want you to re-populate these areas in the post-pandemic world. Look online to find a place that will work with you to determine the amount of area required for now and to expand your business.

Diversify

The fact you have a product to sell is fantastic. However, your revenue may stay the same if you don't take it to the next level. For instance, Coca-Cola was a big seller for years. However, when the company introduced Diet Coke, its revenue soared. Take a look at your product from a customer perspective. Is there something else it can be used for? Would you be able to modify it to bring in another group of customers? If so, it's what you need to work on at the start of 2021 to increase your income.

Review Your Customer Avatar

Hopefully, one of the items you took care of when you started your business was to create an avatar of your perfect customer. You determined their age, profession, and their needs. It's time to review that avatar if you want to elevate your company. Have this coincide with your product review. Determine if your perfect customer has changed. If so, redo the avatar. As a result, you might adjust the ways you advertise your business.

Collect Emails

Collecting emails is still a good way to provide visibility to your business. While asking for them on your website works, the best way to gain more of these addresses is to provide a giveaway. You don't have to break your budget to make this happen. It can be an eBook or a free consultation session. When you do gather the addresses of potential customers, don't inundate them with multiple emails. Focus on genuine promotion and a regular newsletter.

Conclusion

Once the clock strikes midnight on January 1, you'll be ready to make 2021 the year for the elevation of your new business. Follow the suggestions above and take your time. If one way to promote your business doesn't work, don't give up. Something will eventually click.
