Downloading Twitch videos - including clips and lives - is very easy. Although the very popular streaming service with gamers has blocked the native feature, you can use websites and download the short clips saved by your favorite streamer to your computer easily and watch them whenever you want. Originally, Twitch allowed users to download clips saved by content producers, but since May 2018, the service has barred this practice, without ever explaining the reason. Most likely, due to complaints from streamers and, of course, to avoid piracy (and remailing the same clips to rival, YouTube).

In Twitch, a video is understood as a complete stored transmission (live), which can be up to hours long;

A clip may or may not be an excerpt of a transmission, which may not be longer than 60 seconds.
To record the complete live broadcast, as a Live, you can choose to record your computer or smartphone screen with some free programs.

To differentiate, Twitch treats the links to clips and videos differently. Therefore, sites and programs capable of downloading clips do not support video downloads.

How to download clips from Twitch

Access the Twitch website (twitch.tv) through your browser.
Enter the page of the user channel whose clip you want to download.
Click on Clips and then on the clip you want.
Copy the link of the clip.

Access the website of the service you have chosen to download the clip.
Paste the link of the clip you want to download into the corresponding field, and click the Download button.
The site will generate a valid link for the download.
Right-click on the link, under Save link as, and then under Save.
That's it.
