The preloaded Windows 7 Image for eve-ng includes all necessary tools, including Wireshark, and connect putty, and many others. All that is required is for you to download the image and upload it to EVE-ng.

Create a new directory using the following eve ng windows 7 name convention. Copy the distribution ISO image into the newly established directory path using WinSCP, FileZilla SFTP, or SCP port 22

Use CLI to access that directory. Change the file's name to cdrom.iso.

cdrom.iso mv Windows7SP1Ultimate 64 Bit.iso

Generate virtioa.qcow2 as the name of a new virtual hard drive. You can select a size based on your needs.

create -f in /opt/qemu/bin/qemu-img virtioa.qcow2.qcow2 30G

Add the newly formed win-7test node to a new lab.

To enable the node to receive updates from the internet, connect it to your home LAN cloud or internet.

Once you have linked it to your home LAN and the internet, you can start the node inside the lab and personalize your Windows installation as you see fit. This installation will then proceed just like any other standard Windows installation.

Select Load driver when Windows installation prompts you to select an HDD where Windows will be installed. When you browse and select FDD B/storage/2003R2/AMD64 or x86 (AMD or x86 depends on whether you are installing Windows 64-bit or 32-bit), click next, the HDD RedHat VIRTIO SCSI HDD will now appear.

Choose this HDD and carry out the standard Windows installation.

You must enable eve ng windows 7 on this Windows PC and create a login and password if you want to utilize this image with the EVE RDP terminal. Here, we'll use the user as an example. Make that the Windows Firewall allows public access to the Remote Access incoming rules.

Complete the installation process and shut down the VM appropriately from within VM OS. Start/shutdown

A very important factor is to Commit the installation in order to make it the default image for use going forward in EVE-NG:

Select the "Lab Details" in the left sidebar of the lab in the EVE Web UI to view the UUID information for your lab: In this instance: The following UUID is 3491e0a7-25f8-46e1-b697-ccb4fc4088a2

Discover the Node ID of the freshly installed node and the POD ID of your utilized node.

Your username's POD number can be discovered in the EVE GUI's Management/User Management section. By default, the Admin user uses POD number 0.

Locate the installed image using the EVE CLI, then commit your changes to make them the default for future use in EVE-NG:

Change directories to /opt/unetlab/tmp/0/3491e0a7-25f8-46e1-b697-ccb4fc4088a2/8.

commit virtioa.qcow2 in /opt/qemu/bin/qemu-img

Delete the file cdrom.iso from the folder /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/win-7test/

Rm -f cdrom.iso by going to /opt/unetlab/addons/qemu/win-7test.

Now it’s done.
