How to DIY a Tower Container Garden?
To spice up your summer garden, you can plan yourself a tower container garden. It only takes about an hour, which is easy and quick. What you need are all available in the local store or you can buy them online. You are going to need five decorative flower pots to make your towel. You can decide on size and scale. For me, I will use one 8-inch pot, one 11.25-inch, two at 13.5 inches and one big 18-inch pot for the basis. I also use one 32-quart bag and one 8-quart bag of organic potting mix, one 5-foot sturdy garden stake and a bag of sheet moss that will help hold moisture. It is optional but cool. Last but not least, you also need ten herb plants or plant seeds. The plant seeds can br grown in any pot you like. These are suggestions but the choice is up to you. The first step is to choose the right location in your garden for your towel. Start with the biggest pot as your basis. Drive the sturdy stake through the drainage hole into the ground about 8 inches and twist it as you go. Fill the base pot about three quarters full with organic potting soil. Then plant your first herb around the parameter.
Now it is time for your 13.5-inch pots. Thread it through the drainage hole and rest it at a slight angle onto the base pot between the plants. Fill it three quarters full as well. Only this time you only add two plants. Repeat this process with the other 13.5-inch pot and finally the last two pots, which get a single plant of each of those. For the last step, you can add the optional sheet moss in between the plants. It will help retain water and give it a great finished look. That is it.
