How to Disable Gmail Categories On Android Device?

There are various features in Google that we do not find of much use or are not comfortable using it and we decide to stop them to have smooth functioning of our android device. One method to do this is to reset the Gmail app and clear the cache.

However, there is another method also which is easy and helpful, so just go through the steps:

In your Android device, go to Gmail apps and then open settings.
It will ask you to select your Google account. Once you have chosen, then press “Inbox categories”.
Now from the list of options, you can select or either de-select whichever categories you want to deselect or keep.
Now again go back by pressing Back button and select Inbox type. Hit on “Priority box”.
Refresh the window.
You have to force close it while the refreshing process is going on and for this go to “Android Settings” then “Apps”, then “Gmail” and then “Force stop”.
Again go to Gmail back up and repeat step 4 to check the categories. You will see all the categories you have selected are saved.
If required you can again make the desired changes for selecting or deselecting the categories. So for that repeat above steps.
