How to Disable Auto-Renewal on Your Amazon Prime Account

by John Smith Freelancer

Amazon Prime is one of the best media streaming platforms for watching TV shows and movies. In addition to this, you also get special deals and two days of free delivery service.

The best thing about the most subscription-based services is that you don’t have to make a recharge on these subscription-based services. Most online streaming services offer automatic renewal service, which enables a user to enjoy the services continuously without even worrying about recharge and payment. However, there can be some reasons for tuning automatic renewal on these services off. The same applies to Amazon Prime as it also uses the Auto-Renewal feature to renew a subscription without even asking for it.

For a reason or another, if you want to disable Amazon Prime Auto-Renewal, then you have come to the right place. In this article, we are going to explain how to turn it off. By doing so, your money will not be deducted automatically unless you manually renew the subscription. Let’s get started.

How to Turn Off Amazon Prime Auto-Renewal?

Most Media streaming companies such as Amazon provides a 30-day trial period for new users. However, if you want to use their service, then you will have to provide your Debit or Credit card details. By default, the auto-renewal feature remains turned on, and it is the best strategy used by companies to earn money. If you have signed up for 30 days free trial on Amazon, then after 30 days, your account will be debited automatically by Amazon. However, there is a way to turn off this auto-renewal feature.

Follow the below instructions to disable auto-renewal on Amazon:

  1. Open your Amazon Prime Account.
  2. Head to the Manage Your Prime Membership option.
  3. If your account is running on the trail, then head to the End Trial and Benefits option.
  4. Now navigate to the End Membership option, and this option will stop your future automatic plan renewal on Amazon Prime. For those using 30 days trail, press on the Do Not Continue option.

From now on, you won’t be charged automatically for the auto-renewal of Amazon Prime subscription. However, if you want to re-enable the feature, then you can choose the Continue Membership option from the same webpage.

If you want to keep the Auto-Renewal option turned on, then you can set an alert for the renewal, which will remind you that your account is going to renew automatically. This will help you in turning off the auto-renewal when you want not to use Amazon Prime anymore. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Head to Your Account.
  2. Choose the Manage Your Prime Membership option.
  3. In the Next Payment option, make sure that the Remind me before renewing the option is selected.

Keep in mind that you can only use this option when there are three days left for Amazon Prime auto-renewal.
