How to create a firewall exclusion using interactive mode in ESET Cyber Security Pro?

ESET product is one of the best antivirus products for keeping your device safeguarded from all kinds of online threats. It doesn't allow any malware, virus, Trojan, worms, etc., reside on your computer. It keeps on scanning your device all the time after you activate the product on your computer. If you want to create a firewall exclusion on ESET product using interactive mode in ESET Cyber Security Pro, you need to follow the steps given below:


  1. You need to go to your computer and open ESET Cyber Security Pro.

  2. Click on the Setup and then on the Firewall.

  3. You will see a setup button next to the Network traffic filtering option, click on that Setup button.

  4. Now you will get the Firewall window. Go to the filtering mode option and select interactive from the drop-down list, and then exit the Firewall window.

  5. You need to select Home or Office from the drop-down in the Profile section if your computer is connected to the secure network like a home network, office network with password protection, and click on OK. You need to check the box next to remember network.


Note - If you are using the Public network then don’t make any changes.

  1. You can open and run the application which is not running properly. You need to run a command or a program using the device if you are creating a rule for a device like a printer. You can allow or deny the communication by clicking on allow or deny on the window prompted by the ESET Cyber Security pro firewall.

  2. You need to select - Remember action (Create rule) from the drop-down on the Remote port section.

  3. For all necessary applications and the devices connected to your computer, you are required to repeat steps 6 and 7 to complete creating rules for them.

  4. You need to click on Setup and then on the Firewall after you complete creating the new rules for all the applications and devices.

  5. Now you will get the Firewall window. Go to the filtering mode option and select interactive from the drop-down list, and then exit the Firewall window.


The new firewall rules created by you on ESET Cyber Security Pro will allow the applications or device which were not working well to connect to the network. It will not be blocked by the firewall anymore.
