One of the best-kept secrets of the most successful writers and bloggers is that they are creative and productive.  Writing 1000 words is just a part of their daily routine.  Though to most people, it might seem like a lot, but once writers get into the habit, it’s not difficult.  Every writer will have their own way of producing 1000 words. These are the ways that have worked for some writers.

Get Rid of Distractions

Most writers get drawn into formatting, editing, and other things that distract from their writing and really doesn’t concern the content they're going for.  A lot of writers have turned to using MacJounal, which is a free writing tool that slows down everything.  It gets rid of all distractions and allows the writing to concentrate on their writing.  It resembles a simple terminal providing a black screen with green text.

Activation Energy

This is a concept that’s based on the idea that if doing something takes a little effort, it’s something that writers are apt to do it.  To help writers get into the habit of writing 1,000 words a day, they need to prepare their software before going to bed.  Then, the next morning their computer shows the black screen and green letters.  Because of this, the first thing will do is sit down and write.

Free Writing

This is something that writers seldom do even though they’ve been talking about it for a long time.  The concept here is to simply write anything that comes to mind.  Sometimes it seems like nonsense but other times some of their best ideas will emerge.  Free writing 150 words out of the 1,000 can sow the seed for a very good idea.

Writing Blindly

Every writer judges their words as they write them.  What if they couldn’t see what they were writing?  By writing blindly, turning off the screen, the words will flow freely.  Of course, there’ll be lots of typos, but they can always be fixed later.  By practicing this method, writers can’t react to what they’re writing causing doubts to disappear.

Writing Prompts

When writers are stuck and at a lack of words, they usually turn to some of their favorite writing prompts.  They just think of something and then write about it.  They also turn to these for prompts:

·         Kindle – A great feature on Kindle is the capability to highlight paragraphs, sentences, and quotes.  Writers will take whatever they’ve highlighted, copy and paste into their software, and start writing.  It’s also good to search information in business books that's already been highlighted.  It means that a lot of people are may be interested in these topics.

·         Other Posts - Another thing they do is write a response to a reader’s comment or a reply to the post itself.  By doing this, there’s an endless amount of things to write about.

New ideas

Give New Life to Old Ideas

Writers need to understand that great ideas will never grow old.  However, with some new words they can receive a new life.  I could be something write months or years ago or something they saw on the Internet.

Always Create an Outline

It’s a good idea always to start by creating an outline of the idea for the content.  Then leave it for a while.  Upon returning, the words will flow, and the content will get written with ease.  By doing this, there will be new ideas for writing more content.

Plant Words for Ideas

Paragraphs, sentences, and words can be planted like seeds but using words instead.  Writers need to accept that they will have false starts and incomplete ideas because this is what makes them prolific writers.

Use a notebook to jot down any ideas

Use Evernote to record ideas

The idea of planting words only works if it becomes a habit to do so.  If these ideas aren’t recorded, in one way or another, they disappear forever.

To Conclude:

The main point to remember is to develop your own way but be flexible if necessary.  The words are always there, seemingly out of reach, and a routine will inspire writers to channel those words onto the page.

Writing 1,000 words every day becomes like any other habit and will take some time to develop.  But once it does become a habit, writers will find themselves easily writing more than 1,000 words every day.
