by Kristen White Blogger
There is no doubt that jewelry displays are an investment in success. Treated carefully, its components can last a long time and generate more sales for years.

Contrarily, display cases that are frequently used without regular maintenance will look used up and will do little for your merchandise. As a professional merchant and jeweler, you will want your jewelry to look unique when customers walk into your store.

Clients need to walk in knowing that the sellers they are dealing with are knowledgeable in jewlery. With so many customers coming in and out of your store daily, you have to keep the jewelry displays clean as often as you can this way your items always look clean and attractive.

Display cases get dusty daily, but the white leather displays make the regular cleaning of displays even more critical. Like any other white product, everyday dust is more noticable on this product. Luckily, many quality display fabrics are engineered to take the harsh conditions and still be cleanable. General day to day grim  in display cases includes dirt, dust, finger prints, small insects and really anything that touches the display case.

As with any generalized instructions, a caution statement is justified. Some of the cleaning agents can damage your jewelry display cases. You should test any cleaning detergent on a sample area before applying it. To check it, the back of displays has a small area that will allow you to know that the particular detergent you are going to use will not damage your displays.  The following are alternatives for cleaning displays

Suede Fabric- suede fabrics manufacture make the following suggestions when cleaning your jewelry displays – mix half-cupful of cleaning detergent in cold water. Ensure the cleaning detergent you are using doesn't contain bleaching content. Rub the stained area gently with a cotton piece of cloth. Rub in a circular motion. Continue rubbing until the spot disappears. Use another basin of clean water to rinse the display case. Let the display air-dry. When dry, use a soft brush and rub the display to restore the suede look.

Leather Displays- most popular American manufacturers of leather displays suggest the same procedure as for the suede. Mix small amount of water and liquid detergent, rub it on the stained part with a cotton cloth. Rinse it with clean water and allow it to air dry.

Another popular alternative proven is a degreaser called "Simple Green." This spray-on cleaner is an excellent product that has proven safe for all fabrics. The simple green is available at many auto part stores. Many use it without diluting.

Most jewelers have had success in with a light application of denatured alcohol. Dilute by at least with water. Others will have used "hair spray" as a cleaning agent. Experts believe that alcohol in the hairspray is the cleaning agent responsible for success.

Regular cleaning of your jewelry display and keeping them dust-free helps lengthen the life of your jewelry and makes it look better. Remember, clean displays will attract more clients, not only to buy your jewelries but also other products. For instance, clients will buy Kraft paper bags to carry their jewelry.
