How To Clean a Microwave with Lemon Juice
Microwaves have one drawback and that's retaining odours from previous meals. Considering how compact they are and the fact they remain closed as to keep the microwave safe from outside elements, it's no wonder residual smells have become the bane of existence for the general public. This guide will help you master your microwave, you haven't been able to do before. The tips are easy to follow through and the ingredients you will need are certainly present in every household. The best part - you don't have to do all too much to get a desired result.
Empty glass cup or bowl, tap water, fresh lemons, microfibre cloth
Pick a thick glass bowl or cup, which can hold a lot of water and carefully wash it, so it doesn't have any impurities or stains.
Also, be professional. One of the lessons I have learned from the end of tenancy cleaning teams around Stockwell (click the link to check out what they do) who have cleaned my home is that you have to properly equipped for every job and in this case, it means wearing rubber gloves when handling the oven. This will keep your hands clean and protected at the same time when handling its insides with the microfibre cloth. I'd also advise you to wipe it on the outside as well, rather than just treat the insides.
This is a family trick my mother taught me. I'd assume it's the same all around.
Squeeze several fresh lemons in the vessel, but make sure there are no seeds or flesh in the vessel.
Fill the cup or bowl to the rim with water.
Set the microwave to its highest setting and leave the water inside until it evaporates completely. The mixture of water and lemons juice will have worked itself into the grease layers in the microwave and neutralized the smell.
Once the water has evaporated, remove the cup and wipe the insides with the microfibre cloth.
Air dry for a couple of hours and you're done!
