by Alex Riley Wrter

Hairbrushes are a necessity, almost as important as clothes. Everyone who has hair uses a hairbrush at least once a day. Different hairbrushes are well suited for various textures and styles of hair. These hairbrushes include hair detangler brush, curved hairbrush, wet hairbrush, cushion brush, shower hairbrush, and many more. You may recognize a lot of these hairbrushes or have probably used some of them on your hair without giving much thought to the kind of brush it is.

Each of these types of hairbrush has their specific uses and are appropriate for different hairstyles and textures. Using the right hairbrush for your hair texture and styling needs goes a long way into your hair's appearance and overall health. The best type of brush for long thin hair will be very different from the type of curved hair brush appropriate for curly hair. Some brushes are best used for styling your hair, like the vented or round kind of brush, while some are best suited for detangling.

Different Types of Hairbrushes

There are many different kinds of hairbrushes available everywhere. Although the wide variety may be overwhelming, it’s important to learn about all the different kinds of hairbrushes and combs so you know the one that is right for you.

Curved Hairbrush

This type of hairbrush is not as common as the other brushes. It is ergonomically designed with curve ends to fit the shape of the head. It’s designed with lightweight plastic material and features vents. This type of brush is perfect if you’re always on the go and need to style or dry your hair quickly—different curved brushes, including curved hairbrushes for waves, are best for wavy hair.

Detangling Hairbrush

This type of hairbrush is specially designed for detangling your hair in the shower or when it’s wet. It’s perfect if you’ve got frizz or your hair doesn’t cooperate with you. This type of brush doesn’t pull on or snag your wet hair.

Thermal Hairbrush

Thermal brushes are usually round or paddle brushes with a barrel made from a material that conducts heat. The material could be titanium, ceramic, or tourmaline. This produces enough heat t dry your hair and is mostly used by hairstylists.

Choosing the Right Hairbrush

It may seem quick and easy to pick just any type of brush from a store, but if you pick the wrong type of brush, you may cause more damage to your hair. Some of the things to look out for before you buy one are

Ergonomic design

When looking for a suitable hairbrush for your kind of hair, make sure it’s designed to fit comfortably in your hand and should be easy to maneuver. Avoid brushes that make your hands are wrist sore.

Bristle Type

Choose brushes with very soft bristles that glide through your hair with ease. Hard bristles tug on your hair and cause breakage.
