by Cindy Guerra 10+ Years Experienced Blogger

Miss gaming on the move? Or maybe you’re thinking of replacing your current desktop or laptop with a more robust gaming laptop?

With a new range, powerful components and colourful designs, gaming laptops are in a league of their own.

This is especially true, if you want to enjoy games like GTA V, The Witcher 3- Wild Hunt, Doom Warfighter, etc.

On an average, gaming laptop may cost you anything between $800 and $5000. Given the heavy investment involved, it is important to consider multiple factors before making your decision.

We have made the task of choosing the right laptop easier, with our quick guide below:-

  • Check the GPU – Graphic Processing Unit

The graphic card or GPU is the heart of a gaming laptop, and your first priority should be to check on the capacity of the graphic card.  The decision of choosing the GPU depends on what kind of a gamer you are. If you want to try gaming, then you must begin with GTX 1050 GPU, which has mid-level settings and is perfect for an entry-level gamer.

If you’re a mainstream player, and looking to expand the horizon of your gaming experience, then you must go for GTX 1060, which allows you to play on high level settings. GTX 1060 is one of the considerate standards for VR, which will provide a widened experience.

And, if you’re a professional gamer who plays on highest setting with VR, then NVidia GeForce GTX 1070 is your pick. You can have a smooth gaming experience while playing heavy size games like Hitman or The Witcher 3.

  • Latest RAM and Storage

Lots and lots of storage will only make your experience better with gaming laptops. On the RAM front, you should always look for laptops with better storage capacity. You should be buying minimum 8GB RAM. But if you can afford to spend on 16GB, then you must go for the 16GBRAM laptop as games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey work better on minimum 16GB RAM.

Also, while you decide the storage, you will have a choice between an HDD and SDD. If you want to invest in a budget-friendly laptop, then go for 1TB+HDD, but if you are looking for high-end gaming experience, then go for 1TB+SDD. As storage is always upgradeable, you can also upgrade it later.

  • Colourful  Display

Display has its own importance when it comes to gaming laptops, otherwise how else are you going experience the high-end graphics? A good display with proper screen size and high resolution is all what you need for a great gaming experience. Most gaming laptops come with 14-17-inch screen size.

Another key feature is refreshing rate. The faster the laptop, the better the experience. If you’re looking for a higher resolution gaming experience, then 1080p resolution with good refreshing rate is the best option for you. It’s recommendable to not to invest in gaming laptops that have glossier display or have touch-screen as they tend to drain battery faster than others.

The other key parameters could be mechanical keyboard that gives tactile and responsive feel for a gaming laptop.
