All girls spend many hours in thinking that what to wear on her wedding day beforehand and then spend a lot of time in shopping for their desired wedding dress. Once it’s in your hands now you need to take care of it carefully. Following are the points you must target in order to take care of your wedding dress.

After purchase:

  1. Always keep your wedding dress safe in adequate room temperature. Never store it in the basement or attic because they might be dusty and can have drastic changes in temperature.
  2. Why to put your precious beautiful dress in a plastic bag carelessly. Even avoid tight containers and bags. It may ruin the elegance and beauty of your cloth by causing mildew due to moisture development.
  3. Dirt and dust lies everywhere so better protect it with a clean cloth to keep it fresh and beautiful.
  4. No sagging and stretching at the seams of the wedding dress is allowed so hang your dress by the loop.

After the Wedding:

  1. Just after the marriage, you will obviously keep the dress neat and clean and if there are any stains on the dress then directly give it to the dry cleaner to dry clean it and ask him to clean it completely without ruining its beauty. Don’t try to clean it by your own.
  2. As your dress is very smooth and soft so never use acid on your dress to ensure the longevity for the dress. Give strict instructions to the dry cleaning agents whom you hire for this purpose.
  3. Other accessories along with the gown like gloves, veil, grater and handkerchief should be stored properly.
  4. Shoes should be kept away from the gown in another closet.

Emergency Care:

  1. Don’t ever use staples and sticky tapes instead use safety pins in case you encounter any malfunctioning in dress like broken zipper, potent rips etc.
  2. Dresses made of silk or rayon should not come in contact with water as it can ruin it forever.
  3. Before you purchase your gown enquire about the fabric used to make it. Your knowledge of fabric will give you a clear understanding of the material and you will know how to take care of it.
  4. Use dry solvents for if there are marks of lipstick, grease and other cosmetic items on your dress. Ask professional cleaners only to get it removed and don’t try it on your own.
  5. The baking soda and cornstarch can actually do wonders so if it difficult to remove any stain. Go for this home remedy and get your beautiful dress back.
  6. Don’t ever steam on silk it will wrinkle it up badly ruining its entire beauty outlook. In fact avoid iron on the net part, It may burn it at any inappropriate temperature.
