How to Buy an Accordion-A Brief Guide for You

by Lizard Wins Self

Accordion is a costly musical instrument. So, you need to be very careful before buying it. You just cannot afford to buy any one that you see online or in the market. I would always suggest you to get some idea about the different kinds of accordions that are available in the market before buying one for your purpose. Only when you have an idea about an accordion you will be able to know what type to buy or what is suitable for you.

There are different kinds of accordions available like piano, diatonic, chromatic and concertina. So, there are a variety of options to choose from. Do a bit of research work on the different types and then find out the type that will be suitable for you. Ask yourself a few questions before making your choice.

The first question that you should ask yourself is: what is the type of music that you want to play. If it is jazz or rock and roll music, then piano accordions are more suitable. But if you want to use it for classical purpose, then chromatic ones would be better. After getting the answer, ask yourself another important question: how much serious you would be in playing the instrument. If you are a busy person and cannot afford much time for learning how to play, then concertinas would be the right choice for you. But one thing about the concertinas is that their music area is more restricted than piano accordions.

Last but not the least; don’t forget to ask yourself the question of availability. Ask yourself whether the one you have chosen to buy is available in your local area. Also find out if there are repair shops available. Accordions are instruments and they might need repair if needed so make sure there is a shop to repair your musical piece. Don’t forget about the availability of a teacher. Before you choose to buy the musical instrument find out whether there is teacher in your area to help you learn it. Often buyers have found that there were no teacher to teach them the instrument but this realization was only after when they bought. What’s the use buying such pieces?

Accordions are available in different sizes. So, before buying one you also must have an idea about which size is best suitable for your use. If you would be playing it for the first time, then buying a smaller piece is good because it has less number of keys than the bigger ones. More keys means more complications and harder to play. You can buy a used piece if you want. Buying a used instrument would definitely cost you less. But before buying this, make sure all the keys work properly and that there is a repair shop nearby. It is good for first-time learners. If you want, you can surely buy new ones as well. When buying them just remember to go for the Irish made accordions than the Chinese ones.
