How to block a mobile number in India

by Rohan A. Marketer
The need to block a number is increasing every day as the accessibility to any mobile phone number. People can easily get access to anyone’s phone number and later on may trouble them with spam calls, threats, unwanted offers or any such thing and seems near to impossible to get rid of them without tracking and blocking a mobile number, so that they won’t even be able to call us, because some people do not actually understand the meaning of do not disturb and keep calling instead of our various refusals and warnings.

How to get rid of these?

Indian telecom companies have come up with a new way to cope up with these maniacs. They now offer the DND ( do not disturb) service to its users which will automatically block the spammers and other marketing companies coming to your phones and let you live tension free and away from those useless calls.
All the mobile phone service providers avail you the toll-free number to activate this service on your phones. they also provide you with the different levels of this service as per your requirement.

Other ways to block a number

As mentioned above you can go for a DND registry or use the other methods listed below
  1. You can take your service provider's help and update the parental controls which will allow you to receive texts and calls from some specific numbers only.
  2. The handset manufacturers have started providing you some specific features to block a number. Look for some inbuilt help or downloadable options in your phones to limit the incoming calls.
  3. You can also activate silent profile for some specific contacts you don’t want to receive calls from, it will notify you later about all the calls received.
  4. Some apps are available that are mainly used for blocking purposes, these apps can be easily downloaded online free of cost and can be of a great use in order to block someone.
  5. You can also contact the customer care for your specific telecom operator to block a specific contact, but it doesn’t work all of the time as the telecom operators will first verify the number and also if you have a genuine reason for the request made. Later on, they will proceed with tracking and blocking a mobile number.
  6. In case none of the above-mentioned solutions work and you are still being annoyed by a particular person or a contact number the only option available is to change your phone number. It may sound silly but that is the only way left.

You can also make your number appear as the private number instead of displaying the contact number when making a call, so that reduces the risk of your number reaching the spammers to the minimum. But it requires high-level verification to do happen. So, till it gets done you can use the above-mentioned methods to get rid of the lunatics disturbing and annoying you.
