       Pursue a degree: The foremost and crucial step to becoming a News Anchor is to get a relevant degree. You will at least need a primary undergraduate degree before applying your trade in the field. Completing a News Anchoring course will give you all the practical and theoretical skills and knowledge required to thrive in the sector.

You can get a course from any reputable Mass Communication College or University. Enrol yourself in one, and build the framework for the years to come.


       Polish your skills: News Anchoring is a demanding role, and if you aren't at your level best throughout, chances are you might be replaced, or worst-case scenario, ousted from the scene. But if you keep your skills polished and efficient, then you don't have to encounter such situations. The most primitive skill you need to master is communication. Anchoring is all about communicating, so have your "Brahmastra" readied and handy. You also need to hone skills such as writing, interpersonal skills, etc. perfectly. You need to have realistic expectations from the job, otherwise, it will be very hard to sustain a career. You need to be flexible as news has no time limits. You might be required to cover a topic at midnight, so be prepared beforehand. You have to be alright with moving from place to place, taking low paychecks at the start, and forgetting about holidays. The job is demanding, so take it up with thorough knowledge about the pros and cons.
