How to Become a Training Provider

by Brian W. Writer

Training providers

Training providers are companies and organisations that deliver courses which result in the completion of qualifications. These companies and organisations come in many forms, such as schools, colleges, private training providers, universities, and prisons as well as others. There are some things these training providers have to do to be able to deliver these courses and provide qualifications at the end, let’s take a look at what these are.

Becoming a training provider

You can’t just become a training provider and provide qualifications straightaway. You have to go through an awarding body. The awarding body provides you with the qualifications and makes sure that the courses you are running are of a good enough standard. There are many requirements a training provider has to meet to become approved by an awarding body and then be able to provide qualifications. They are:

·         First the training provider has to have employees with the right qualifications to be able to teach the courses. This makes sure that the person delivering the course has the skills and knowledge to effectively teach the framework of the qualification. Without this the teacher of the course wouldn’t be qualified to take the course.

·         The training provider must have the facilities to teach the qualification. With the correct environment, training providers can teach students the skills and knowledge they need safely.

·         An approved training provider has to have members of staff within the organisation to make sure that the standards are met whilst the course is being delivered and for the awarding of the qualification. The roles are Assessors and Internal Verifiers. These have to make sure the awarding body’s standards are being met and the qualifications are awarded correctly.

These three points are things that a training provider must have in order to provide qualifications from an awarding body such as Active IQ. Active IQ is a multi-sector awarding body that provides qualifications to training providers.

If you are interested in becoming a training provider and think you can meet the requirements to be able to deliver qualifications then why not get in touch with Active IQ? You can find more information about becoming approved with them at:
