How to apply for a spouse VISA?

A British citizen or a UK resident with settlement status, is entitled to bring their spouse / partner to the UK. You can apply for UK spouse VISA also known as UK marriage VISA if you’re married to a citizen of UK or a person who is settled in UK. Spouse VISA permits married partners of citizens of UK to shift to the UK because they’re married to someone who is resident in UK or is settled. Spouse VISA is issued for thirty three (33) months if applied from overseas. Spouse VISA is issued for thirty (30) months if applied from within UK.

 

It is possible to study or work in UK on a spouse VISA. You can apply for UK Spouse Visa from within UK or from overseas. Application for spouse VISA takes 2 to 12 weeks. VISA application processing time varies from country to country. If you’re already living in UK on a work VISA, student VISA or fiancé VISA for more than 6 months, you can apply for spouse VISA.   

Requirements for spouse VISA:

1.     You and your married partner must be 18 years or older.

2.     You and your spouse must have met.

3.     Financial requirements must be met. You must have sufficient money.

4.     You need to have appropriate accommodation for you and your spouse.

5.     Plan to live together permanently as husband and wife.
