How to add & manage labels to organize Gmail

emails, but they are different from the folder. You can create many labels for
an email. Labels are generally used to categorize the emails. It is easy to
create labels and manage them, here is how to add, create, edit, hide, and
delete labels.
How to create a new label
You can create a new label with
the name you want. Here is how.
1. Go to
‘Gmail.’
2. Sign in with
your Gmail account credentials, if you’re not signed in.
3. Click the ‘v
More’ button in the left menu.
4. Scroll down
and click ‘+ Create new label’ at the bottom.
5. Enter a label
name for the new label.
6. Click the
‘Create’ button.
How to edit and color a label
You can edit, color and remove the
label you want, here is how.
1. Go to
‘Gmail.’
2. Sign in with
your Gmail account credentials, if you’re not signed in.
3. In the left
menu, find the label you want to edit.
4. Hover the
mouse over it, and click ‘More’ icon.
5. Click ‘Label
color’ at the top in the menu and select a color.
6. Click ‘Edit’
near the bottom to rename the label.
How to label messages in Gmail
inbox
1. Go to
‘Gmail.’
2. Sign in with
your Gmail account credentials, if you’re not signed in.
3. Open ‘Inbox’.
4. Click and
choose messages.
5. Click the
‘Labels’ icon at the top options.
6. From the
menu, select a ‘Label.’
7. Click ‘Create
New’ to create a new label.
8. Enter a label
name for the new label.
9. Click the
‘Create’ button.
How to label a message you’re
composing
1. Go to
‘Gmail.’
2. Sign in with
your Gmail account credentials, if you’re not signed in.
3. Click the
‘+Compose’ button at the top in the left menu.
4. In the new
message window, click the ‘dotted’ icon at the bottom.
5. Go to
‘Labels.’
6. Select a
‘Label.’
7. Click ‘Create
New’ to create a new label.
8. Enter a label
name for the new label.
9. Click the
‘Create’ button.
How to put a message into
another label
1. Open your
Gmail ‘Inbox’.
2. Select the
message you want to move.
3. Click the
‘Labels’ icon at the top options.
4. Click and
uncheck the marked label.
5. Then mark a
new label to select it.
6. Click
‘Apply.’
How to delete a label
Removing a label will not delete
your message, so you can remove the label when you want.
1. Go to
‘Gmail.’
2. Sign in with
your Gmail account credentials, if you’re not signed in.
3. Find the
‘label’ in the left menu you want to remove.
4. Hover the
mouse over it, and click ‘More’ icon.
5. Click ‘Remove
label’ from the option at the bottom.
6. Click
‘Delete’ button.
Note: Deleting
a label will not delete your message but deleting a message will remove the
message from all the labels.
