In this approach, it will be always easy to speak and express yourself. Secondly, you can segregate your accomplishments into multiple categories such as technical, personality or leadership, community involvement, and contribution. This will help you to connect well with future job roles.

Job description

It’s extremely important to read the job description carefully. If you haven’t understood anything, then seek help at this stage. If you are clear with the job description, then only you can relate your accomplishments with the new role and will justify “how you can contribute to the new firm”. Additionally, you can easily identify the challenges and opportunities for you and prepare accordingly, as these are the common questions which you will receive in the interview.

Research the Company

Do a detailed research about the company, primarily its product or services, recent highlights, values, locations, work culture and the team where you have applied. Conversation Style

Though it’s a personal interview, you can always make that engaging and make sure it should not end like a monologue. There are a couple of ways to make a conversation interesting and engaging. For example, you can use voice modulation, expressions, taking the right pauses or using the right connectors such as “that’s a great question”, “I am glad you asked me this” etc.

Be a great listener

Don’t jump to answer the question immediately even if you know everything. Be an empathic listener and listen to understand. After that, take a pause for a few seconds, gather your thoughts and then speak. The more you listen actively; the more you will answer calmly and with confidence.

Ask if you haven’t understood anything

There is no problem in asking anything if you haven’t understood anything or maybe you couldn’t listen properly. In most of the cases, you might answer out of context if you will not ask.
