How The Automotive Industry Is Moving Towards Technological Development

by Vicky Layton freelancer
With examples like TESLA and Audi, it's clear how technological evolution has become a priority within top players of the automotive industry. Since the launch of the first version of TESLA's autopilot, the quest for the application of "driverless-related" technologies to the consumer's market has been tangibly growing on a daily basis. Let's analyse what other technological features are being implemented now in an industry which keeps on changing and it's very likely to be automated in the near future.

How TESLA Is Driving The Industry

To understand the future developments of this industry segment, we must analyse what the big players are doing. TESLA has recently updated its autopilot, with new features relying on a more advanced tracking system and a far more advanced rendering, which projects instantly what the sensors are gathering from the surrounding environment.

Audi's Competition

Audi is probably the biggest European producer for what concerns technological innovation in the automotive industry. There has been a lot of competitors who have recently embraced newer technologies in the automotive industry, but Audi remained unbeaten in the segment.  Volkswagen came second and the Jaguar group followed afterwards. Audi was the first one who presented a driverless prototype at 2017's automotive salon in Geneve.

The Market Value

The application of driverless technologies will most likely reach the consumer's market in the next 5 years, and their market value will definitely grow even more. Imagine: in the nearest future you will be able to set up for a business van leasing plan which is basically a robot. It may sound like science fiction but, given how the market is moving, it will definitely become a reality in the nearest future so, from a market perspective, it's important to state its value as of today.

To Conclude

The application of machine learning, SLAM and more new technological trends has become so popular in the automotive industry and we can safely expect this to overtake the entire sector when driverless vehicles will actually be sold to the public market.
