The Solar pump variable frequency drive (VFD) is an integral part of electric components across industries. Also called as AC drive, VFD electricity is supplied by gird or generator directly; it means standard VFD is either using AC power, 3PH or 1PH. Solar pump VFD gets input from PV module and change it to AC output for pump controlling and pump functioning.

Hardware is 100% same as regular VFD, the difference between typical VFD and solar pump controller is of MPPT Algorithm SOFTWARE. It can be said Solar Pump VFD is VFD based MPPT pump controller.
