More conventional doorways and curtains are giving way to plastic curtains as they are more effective in cold storage and chillers where the requirement for extremely low temperatures is mandatory. There are a huge range of these plastic door strips available for use, and they are anti-insect, anti-microbial, anti-static polar grade, and standard PVC strips and each in their own way protects the interiors in the most effective way by sealing them entirely from outside elements. The use of plastic strips has hugely reduced power bills in cold storage, cold rooms, chillers, and other storage spaces where air-conditioning is used to preserve the freshness of perishable food items. By effectively sealing the rooms they are guarding, and taking the bare minimum time to open and shut, these curtains do not allow cold air to escape to the outside and therefore maintain the optimum cold temperature inside and prevent the need for overuse of air-conditioners as found in rooms with more conventional doors.

Being lightweight and made of a material that is easily available means that the strips are versatile in terms of economy and ease of use. Conventional doors can be more expensive as they are made of wood, steel, aluminium and other hard materials and take experts to fix them on doorways and windows. This would obviously cost money whereas plastic curtains made of lightweight material are easy to carry and fix without the help of expert technicians. Here you not only save the cost of material but also the cost of labour which otherwise would have increased the cost of installing the doors. Any person with basic skills can fix these strips onto doorways and windows.

Most manufacturers will provide strip curtain kits which are easy to fix on the wall and hang the strips. Another advantage these strips have over conventional doors is that they can be formed to fit any size irrespective of the doorway they are going to guard. The strips are manufactured in widths between 2cm to 4cm and can be fixed on a curtain rail which is fixed over the doorway to form a door. The plastic doors are easy to open and shut and do not need much force to do that. Even a nudge with a shoulder or by a vehicle can easily open them, and you don’t need to close them because they do it on their own accord.
