How Pallet Wood Is Recycled

by Debbies Pallets Debbie's Pallet and Crate Solutions

Pallets are indispensable elements in the logistics and distribution industry, especially in the transport of goods. The popularity is such that standards are required, and exist, to favor pallet retrieval. Today we explain how pallet wood is recycled.

Valid pallets for reuse, how to recycle wood

Wooden pallets are very economical and efficient elements. Their useful life is very long but the best thing they have is that their possibilities of reuse are equally wide.

In this way we can classify the pallets as reusable and not reusable. The former are those that, once their life cycle as a logistics element is over, are still in good condition. For this, there are companies that propose solutions in which pallet wood is recycled.

The most widely used models are the Canadian pallet, the American pallet and the chemical industry pallet. All of them admit more uses than the original, to the point that they can be reused six to ten times, although for this it is necessary to proceed to examine them previously before putting them on sale as recycled equipment.

The second-hand Canadian pallet is practically impossible to determine if it is new or used, it is normally used for dynamic loads of up to 1,200 kilograms in national or foreign shipments.

The American supports lower dynamic loads, 800 kilograms, but is also used for static loads, 1,000 kilograms. Like the Canadian one, the recycled American pallet is still very valid for professional use.

Finally, the pallet dedicated to the chemical industry differs from the others in that its corners are prepared for shrink wrapping. The imperfections, whether they are new or used models, are typical of wood and its natural origin, which leads to the use of recycled Large Wooden Boxes.
