How Much Money Can You Save on Electricity Bill if You Go Solar in UP?

by Diksha Sharma Blogger and writer

The current solar policy of Uttar Pradesh with the operation period has currently expired (31st March 2017). Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a draft for UP solar power policy.

The policy states that the state of Uttar Pradesh has the solar potential of 23.8GW and is aiming at 10.7GW of commissioned solar power by the end of 2022, with 4.3GW of this capacity that is assigned to rooftops. Another thing that is of paramount of importance is to provide 24 hours of electricity to both rural and urban households by the end of 2019. Another thing to keep in mind is that solar parks with a minimum of 100MW will be set up and the government will also provide incentives to purchase land on lease or usage.

Moreover, 50% of the power that will be produced from the solar parks will only be sold to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) or a distribution licensee nearby.

One of the ways to encourage installation of the solar rooftop is by promoting and deploying rooftop plants for self-consumption on all the state government and central government-owned buildings.

While talking about incentives, the state government has ensured a subsidy between Rs. 10,000/kW and Rs. 20,000/kW by the first-come-first-served basis for the first 100MW applications submitted to UPNEDA in the private residential sector. There are cases sometimes where the installation is delayed by six months, in that case, the subsidy shall be withdrawn.

The amount will be paid to the customers after the commission and the submission of documents to UPNEDA. It is just like the solar policy of the capital of Delhi, the height of the module structure will not be considered when talking about the height of the building. Hence, no further permission for construction is needed.

One of the most significant thing about UPNEDA is that they also ensure a single window clearance for all power producers, which then allows expediting the process.

The major outbreak is that this agency has identified that there is a need for simplifying the process of getting permits and approvals. Another thing UPNEDA can do is work towards the better implementation of the Net metering policy.

One of the best companies that install rooftops is MYSUN. It is India’s largest online rooftop solar company with its operations in multiple states in North, for instance, a solar company in Lucknow, and solar company in Ghaziabad. and Western India. The company provides the most advanced technology and highest quality solar services.

MYSUN solar rooftop systems come with a 25-years solar service promise package. Their in-house team of veteran solar experts ensures its consumers to get the most out of their solar rooftop systems.
