How men have been the biggest “Victims “of gender biasness in most of the Sexual harassment cases?

by Rahul K. Blogger

When the whole world is talking about “How fairly we are treating our women?” we have forgot to ask, “How fairly our men have been treated in the same regards?” Anonymous

Swaroop raj, one of the vice president of the top most IT Company in India recently committed suicide after being suspended from organization on the allegations of sexually harassing two of his colleagues in office. As per the reports by Police, it was been stated that the investigations were carried upon by the Internal complaints committee and Raj was been suspended for the duration of the same.

Police also discovered a suicide note from Raj’s place which further stated that he was simply innocent and didn’t have anything to do with such allegations.

This has once again given air to one of the most ignored questions ever, “Has gender biasness took over the logical reasoning capabilities of humans?” Seems like that is the hard truth as this is not the first time when a guy has been simply claimed as “ guilty” without having a chance to prove himself in front of all such allegations. Raj is no more in this world but there is thousands of Raj’s around who are fighting this battle of “Innocence” amidst all the false and fabricated allegations around.

Just a few months back, sexual abuse against women around became a trending topic on social media where almost each of them came up with their versions of stories whilst going through various sexual harassment and assault faced within their professional careers. Investigations got initiated and it was been later found that most of the claims were false and cooked up. So what was the motive behind all these acts? We can’t guess much about the same but we can only say that these allegations have put the careers and lives of all such men on stake in the whole process and even though allegations have proved wrong eventually, most of the men have lost their dignity and respect within the society.

Talking in the same regards, famous American Psychologist, Howard Gardener has also talked about the same in one of his interviews to a magazine. He said, “Current societies are living with a misconception which has further brought their biasness towards a particular gender in every aspect. Same is happening in terms of all the sexual harassment cases around. We all believe that it’s men who are at fault always!”Even Avinash Pandey, CEO of ABP News Netowrk India, pushed the same notion forward in regards to the increasing sexual harassment cases at workplaces by saying,” Any complaint to the ICC (Internal Complaints Committee) if upheld, the organization should deal with the concerned offender very strictly and make an example out of him and simultaneously protect the dignity and the job prospect of the aggrieved female / male employee”.
