How Many Days Should You Spend on an Indian Tour?
by Althaf M Yoonus Digital Marketing ExecutiveEven if you spend six months in India, you may not be able
to see and experience the entire country. Unfortunately, many people cannot
afford to spend that much time on vacation. So, a more practical time frame you
can consider for an Indian tour would be two to three weeks. This would the
ideal time to get a feel of the country, its culture, and visit a few vastly
diverse regions. When you have a clear idea of the time you are going to spend
in India, it becomes easy for you to make your international
flight booking.
Two
Weeks in India
If you got two weeks with you, it is a good idea to consider
the classic Golden Triangle and a Rajasthan sight-seeing trip. You will be able
to travel at your pace and add one extra day at some place that catches your
fancy. You can spend a couple of days sleeping in the Thar Desert under the
stars, experience a camelback safari, or head to Jaisalmer, the fortress town
close to Pakistan border, and visit havelis (traditional Indian townhouses or
mansions with a big courtyard) that are centuries old. These havelis have now
been converted into boutique hotels. If you have a penchant for more
destinations and new experiences, then you can consider visiting Amritsar, a
town in Punjab, and the Wagah Border. Amritsar is home to the Golden Temple, a
holy Sikh landmark. Now, start looking for cheap flights to India.
Three
weeks in India
If you have been able to get hold of one of the best flights deals,
it makes sense to see whether you can manage three weeks in India. Ideally, you
can tour two regions in three weeks’ time. You can either tour North India
(Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan, Varanasi, and the Himalayas) or visit three or four of
the South Indian states (Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala). If you are
game to take a couple of domestic flights,
you may consider visiting a few places in the Northern and Southern India. In
case you are not likely to come to India again for a very long time, then you
can choose this option.
Have you made up your mind about an Indian tour? Get going
even if you been able to find only cheap one way flights.
It is worth it!
