Then the eye will be cleaned using anesthetic drops and a lid speculum will be used to prevent the eye from blinking. Then a Microkeratome which is a blade device is used to cut a flap and reshape the cornea and a suction ring is placed on the eye to create suction to the cornea and the Microkeratome is attached to the suction ring. After the highly specialized laser carves the cornea into proper shape, the flap is sealed back and the surgery takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
