How is Second Time Pregnancy Different from the First?
by Steve Jen Nothing The first pregnancy experience is usually considered extremely important in shaping your beliefs about childbirth in general. It is not uncommon to come across women who are scared of getting pregnant again due to their painful past experience. However, women who have birthed multiple times know that each experience can be different. When comparing first and second pregnancies in particular, there is a whole world of differences that every woman hoping to get pregnant again should know about. From the attitude of the people around you to the symptoms you will feel, almost everything would be different. Like your first pregnancy, preparing ahead is the key to a pleasant experience. So, here are a few of the major changes that may alter the experience for you.
The Family Landscape around You
While everyone would be equally caring and loving, they may not treat you like a delicate princess they first did. The differences are exacerbated by the fact that you already have one child to take care of and to prepare her/him to accept and welcome the upcoming member in the family. This also means that you may not have enough time to sleep and take naps as often as you previously used to.
The Signs
Unlike the first time, the second baby bump is said to appear a lot earlier. For many women, the bump is there even before they have the chance to take the pregnancy test. Same goes for the baby’s movement. You are likely to feel the kicks and other movements earlier than you did during the first pregnancy. Put simply, you are more likely to be bigger than you were and it would be lot easier to believe that you are pregnant.
The Baby’s Position
The first pregnancy causes the abdominal muscles to expand and stretch a lot. For most women, this causes the baby to drop, which means you will be carrying your baby lower this time. The bright side is that it will not create breathing or eating problems most women experience the first time. However, the lower fetal position might cause back pain issues and the need to urinate more frequently.
Health Concerns
A second pregnancy often accompanies more nutritional deficiencies as compared to the first one. This is more likely if there is less than a two-year gap between both pregnancies. Childbirth consumes a great amount of nutrition such as iron stored in your body, and a quick second pregnancy means the body wouldn't have enough time to recover fully.
Overall, you are likely to be more confident and less confused, and this fact itself turns the tables around. Be sure to take as good care of your health through diet, nutrition, and birth relaxation techniques so that the experience is even better than before. hypnosis and childbirth
