How is Cervical cancer detected?

Cancer has emerged as the latest lifestyle disease. Some forms of cancer are curable, while others are fatal in nature. Women, too, are not immune to cancer. Amongst all Cervical cancer is only cancer, which affects Women. Cervical cancer happens in women’s cervix. Human Papilloma viruses or HPV causes it. It can spread through sexual and skin to skin contact. There is no easy way to know if one has cervical cancer. This is one cancer that is only detectable with proper tests. A good doctor will make the proper diagnosis and suggest the right cure.

 Cervical cancer detection method

Now that one knows cervical cancer is detectable. It would be good to know methods for its detection. These are the best possible methods to check if one has cervical cancer. Most doctors would tell the process beforehand, but it is good to have general information.

Everyone has heard about the PAP test. PAP test checks for cancer growth in the cervix. In the PAP test, the doctor takes a cell sample from the surface of the cervix. This is necessary to check if one has cancer as PAP detects its traces. Its results indicate whether one has cancer or not. This is a definitive result. However, if the result is normal, there is no cancer. If the results are abnormal, your doctor will suggest more diagnosis. 

The next level in detection involves the process called colonoscopy. This gives a better result. Colonoscopy doctor will examine the patient’s cervix through a colonoscopy. This allows proper inspection of the cervix surface, which is not possible in the PAP test. 

A biopsy is the next advanced level test for cervical cancer detection. Additionally, one can also go for a cone biopsy. These tests will give the better result. It makes it easy for the doctor to begin treatment. Ultimately this process allows doctors to initiate the cure.

Apart from this, there are other methods too. It may help in recognizing if one has this cancer. Bleeding is normal for women during the periods. However, if there is abnormal vaginal bleeding, it may be a sign that one has cervical cancer.

Cancer is an autoimmune disorder. It usually runs in the family. A Doctor may ask about a family history of cervical cancer. This is done if he doubts one has cancer.

One may be asked to undergo a pelvic exam for the detection of cervical cancer. A Pelvic exam result can suggest if there is a cancer virus in the cervix.

It is common knowledge that lymph nodes help in cancer detection. If there is a suspect of Cervical cancer, the doctor may also check your lymph node. If it’s hard, it might be humorous. There is an additional cystoscopy test. This shows just how much cancer cells have grown in the body.

Sometimes there might be Chest X-ray to detect the overall spread of cancer.
