The fundamental meaning of Ethernet is a technology that most functions in wired Local Area Networks (LAN). It could be your house or the office space, or the club- Any small space that has computers or other electronic gadgets forming a network among them is a LAN network. It is necessary to establish the difference between LAN and WAN right at the beginning. WAN (Wide Area Network) works in complete contrast to its counterpart. The latter one covers a geographical area. Between all these, Ethernet functions as a network protocol that monitors how data is commuted over a LAN.

Ethernet was built with the purpose to let all the computers in a room use a mutual communication channel. Yet, there is a large section of the society that still counts on the old staple for better performances in day to day activities. Wired Ethernet connections bring nostalgia when they are put against ubiquitous Wi-Fi connections. But, when it comes to certain applications and programs, the former remains updated and evolved, matching every step to bring necessary results.
