How Effective is ELASTEC Mini floating drum industrial oil skimmer?

The ELASTEC TDS 118 floating drum oil skimmer is available in pneumatic or hydraulic motor for spill response or industrial use. Because of its shallow draft and lightweight, the TDS 118 is perfect for cleanup in rivers, creeks, and lakes. It is equally at home in an industrial American Petroleum Institute separator. It is capable to recover a vast array of oils. The TDS 118 has checked at Ohmsett to substantiate its nameplate efficiency and capacity.

It is supplied with either hydraulic motor or air motor. For hydraulically driven skimmers we can provide electrical driven or diesel power pack.


Mini Skimmer

A small selective floating drum oil skimmer driven by a 12V motor, the ELASTEC Mini Floating Drum Industrial Oil Skimmer is perfect for ponds, marinas, streams, and small industrial tanks to recover light oils like lube oil, diesel, hydraulic, and sheens. It can be operated from a low voltage power source, such as a car battery, or plugged into a 110V/220V outlet.

The TDS 118 floating drum oil skimmer is capable to recover both light and heavy oils with very low water content, basically 2 to 3%. The motor, drums, and gearbox are able to thousands of hours of issue-free operations and functionality. The scrapers are self-adjusting to allow for wear.

As we already discussed, the TDS 118 is supplied with either air or a hydraulic motor. The pneumatic model can be connected directly to a vacuum truck for an efficient oil spill unit for conducting routine pit cleanup operations. For hydraulically driven skimmers, we can provide an electric or diesel driven power pack. The lightweight aluminium frame is anodized for superior corrosion protection.

Waste Oil Recovery – The MiniMax oil skimmer is perfect for multiple waste oil recovery applications. The motor, gearbox, and drums are able of various hours of problem-free operations. The scrapers are self-adjusting to allow for wear. For acidic environments, the HDPE frame construction is suggested. The shafts and bearing are upgraded to the stainless steel. In this configuration, MiniMax is extensively operated in the copper mining industry recovering organic oils in the acidic ponds.

Food Oil Processing – For food oil processing (soybean, palm, corn, canola, cottonseed, sunflower, and peanut) applications, the Minimax can be manufactured with a stainless steel frame and drums. The MiniMax is extensively used in the palm oil industry for the recovery of waste oils. For this application, the oil should be heated to a high temperature to make it fluid. MiniMax is capable of withstanding these temperatures as well as the corrosive conditions.
