A Brush cutter is a useful piece of equipment for cutting tufts of grass, shrub, weeds and bramble the gardens surrounding your homes and business establishments. An unruly growth of grass or shrub can significantly spoil the beauty of your garden, but with a powerful brush cutter these obstacles can be cleared in no time and your garden will be back to their former glory.

A brush cutter in UK is also known as a grass strimmer, or weed cutter or weed whacker as it tackles the toughest grass. Instead of cutting blades it uses flexible monofilament for slicing grass and shrubs grown around objects or on irregular steep terrains. The strimmer works on the following principle; a fast turning line is held out of its housing by great centrifugal force and faster the reel turns stiffer it becomes. This enables even nylon lines to cut through grass, woody plants and shrubs without difficulty.

The line or cutting blade in the brush cutter is wound on to a reel before the task is begun, and the ends are extended from the reel housing. The line extends horizontally as the motor turns the reel while the operator sweeps the trimmer across the grass or plants that are to be cut. Since the operator can control the cutting height, the grass can be trimmed to the ground levels easily. If the line is worn off, or break the operator knows the reel on the ground and the line from the reel will replace the worn out portions. Your Brush cutter can be easily adjusted for vertical cutting as the machine can be tilted as a whole, and some machines allow the head to be adjusted to the different angles of cutting.

The internal combustion engine powering the grass strimmer is usually located on the opposite side of the cutting head, but in electric powered cutters, have the electric motors integrated into the cutting head. Other arrangements include a trimmer being attached to hydraulic motor powered heavy machinery. A petrol strimmer or brush cutter is ideal for using in large, hard to reach areas, whereas a cutter connected to a power line for energy will restrict the movement to a certain degree. The market now has several other types of brush cutter sporting advanced technology cutters to make grass and shrub cutting an easy task.
