For every NDA aspirant even of a good intellect or of an average intellect this question arises as how he can prepare for NDA exam. Preparation is something that matters the most in any examination. With his preparation he can easily analyse that are they going to be successful or not?

How To Begin The NDA Exam Preparation:

It is well known by all that UPSC conducts NDA examination and those who are familiar with UPSC exams must have known that the syllabus for the examinations conducted by UPSC are quite lengthy. Same goes with NDA too. This is the reason students gets confused as where to start their preparation.

Importance Of English And Mathematics:

NDA examination is divided into two papers. Paper-I is of Maths containing 120 questions and Paper-II is of GAT containing 150 question in which 50 is dedicated to subject English.

Hence it is clear that Maths has its own place in NDA, so it will be a clever thing to start your preparation with Maths and thereafter English because after maths it is the subject containing highest number of questions.

Those candidates applying for Army wing and of Non-Mathematics background should prepare for English as their merit will be based mostly on the number they have secured in English paper.

 

Important Topics Of NDA Mathematics:

These are some of the most important topics that covered the maximum number of questions in NDA exams:

·        Limit, Continuity and Differentiability

·        Probability(with P&C) and Statistics

·        Trigonometry

·        Straight Lines and Conic Sections

·        Complex numbers

·        Matrices and Determinants

·        Sets(Venn diagrams), Relations and Functions

Important Topics Of NDA English:

English for NDA is divided into two parts; grammar and Non-grammar. Topics like Antonyms, Synonyms, Reading comprehensions and spotting errors are those which are assured to come in the examination. Also, do not forget to prepare parts of speech as it cover the whole grammar part of general English.

 

Importance of General Science in NDA Examination:

Other than English, the GAT paper of NDA exam has two other sections i.e. General Science and General Knowledge. Out of this 150 question around 50 questions are of General Science divided into three sub-sections. These are Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Out of these three Physics is the most important one. Thereafter comes Chemistry and Biology. For these subjects preparation for NCERT 11th and 12th books are ideal.

Preparation Of General Knowledge for NDA Exam:

The third sub-section of GAT paper other than English and General Science is General Knowledge. General Knowledge section too covers approx 50 questions in the examination. The Section is further sub-divided into History, Polity, Geography, Economics and Current Affairs.

History, Polity and Geography has a lengthy course. Geography contains Indian as well as world geography. History covers Ancient, Medieval, Modern and some topics of world history too. Polity only contains topics of Indian polity.

Among all geography contains the maximum number of questions. In current affairs questions related to defence are of much importance. Hence, it is also important to prepare for defence quiz as well.

Other Important Tips To Prepare Well For NDA Exam:

·        Syllabus is the most important thing about any examination. Try to be clear about the syllabus of NDA examination.

·        Make a study schedule on what to cover when.

·        Make a diary. Note everything that is important and can help you later.

·        Develop a routine for study. Time management and disciplined study is must.

·        Divide syllabus in various portions so as to make it clear as what topic should be prioritize.

·        Make short notes and write short-tricks on regular basis so as to memorise it well.

·        Start your preparation as earliest. Do not wait to complete it till the last day.

·        Revision is utmost important. Give proper time for revision.

·        Practice makes a man perfect. So practice as much questions as you can.

·        Give mock test. It will help you to know your weak points as well as also teach on how to manage time while actual examination.

·        Have good quality books and study material. A book with incorrect information’s and syllabus of examination will misguide you from the path of success.

How to prepare For NDA During Intermediate:

Most of the candidates for NDA appear for the NDA exam while they are in class 12th . It is a good decision to do so as the age limit for NDA is quite less . By doing this an aspirant gets fair chance to clear NDA. For this it is necessary to prepare for it along with class 12th. It isn’t hard to co-ordinate both the studies as the syllabus for NDA is quite related to NDA only. So one can prepare for both together.
