Although implants cost more than other tooth replacement methods, they nonetheless ensure results definitely not possible with others. Some people however feel worried with implants as they are not comfortable undergoing any surgical intervention for their dental issues. Well, such concerns are far and few between because dental implants can be placed inside the jawbone in a totally painless manner. The procedure has two parts – the first in which a surgeon will insert the titanium-made post inside the mouth, and second, a dentist to put on the crown.

Further, multiple stages are involved in placement of dental implants but advancements in dental technology have also made it possible to benefit from a single step procedure. First of all, there will be formulation of a treatment plan where the dentist generally analyzes all the dental and medical records of the patient. In the same step, a thorough analysis of the oral cavity is done to ensure suitability for the procedure. Based on the medical history and current health of the patient, a treatment plan is prepared which fits well into the dental needs. This is when the treatment starts.

The treatment will start with the dentist anesthetizing the region where the implant is to be placed. This is done to ensure pain-free treatment to every step of the way. After that, an incision is made over the oral soft tissues so that the dentist can reach to the jaw bone in an easy manner. The dentist will then drill a hole inside the jaw bone to tap or screw the implant into position. A use of precise force is done so that the implant fits well where it’s supposed to be. After that, a prosthesis has to be placed over the implant.

If the procedure is two-step in nature, then the dentist will place a healing abutment over the implant and suturing of the soft tissue is done to make the surgical site heal over time. After completion of the healing, the abutment is taken off and a prosthetic is placed to the mountain to complete the procedure. This is how an expert Suffolk county oral surgery takes place and one is able to find a perfect tooth replacement in a pain-managed way. You too can benefit from implant and restore your smile easily.
