It is a dilemma of every buyer, whether he should purchase Horizontal or Vertical Pumps? Both the pumps have their own strengths and weaknesses, but, Horizontal Pumps are the ones with their shafts in the horizontal position which makes it easier to install and water circulation is much more in comparison to the Vertical pumps. It consists of double suction with a heavy duty shaft with replaceable shaft leaves.  It can operate on 50 or 60Hz and are easy to maintain. There are many buyers who support Horizontal over Vertical pumps mainly because of the following reason:

1. Vertical ones requires an extra sump pit and barrel whereas horizontal ones can be directly attached to electric motors, engines and turbines.

2. Dewatering of roads, construction sites or building terrace which is a difficult task can be done easily with the horizontal ones rather than vertical pumps and saves the time and energy used if traditional methods are applied.

3. It is best suited for irrigation purpose as it increases the flow of water in horizontal pipelines that irrigates the fields faster especially in sprinkler systems.

4. They are easy to install and maintain in comparison to vertical ones which needs regular repair and maintenance.

5. As it is available in various sizes and proportions, its usage is not just limited to dewatering or irrigation services; it can be used in various industries such as steel plants, sugar plants, cooling water systems, etc.

6. It is high in demand in the fire fighting industry and a tool of utmost importance obviously because of the increased flow of water and tolerance to high pressures.

Many residential household purchase pumps as now they are bidding farewell to traditional methods of the irrigation system of wells and dewatering with buckets. But along with residential clients there are various industrial clients with high demands of electrical pumps such:

1. Steel industries where the flow of water needs to be regulated and continuous.

2. Automobile industry where cooling systems are used and installed in vehicles.

3. Water treatment plants and many more such plants where fresh water is made out of sea water.
