Homemade Sizzler Brownie Recipe

Ingredients:
For the brownie:
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the sizzle
  • 1/4 cup (60g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water

For the toppings:
  • Ice cream
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.

  • While the brownie is baking, make the sizzle. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sugar dissolves.

  • Let the sugar cool slightly, then drizzle it over the top of the warm brownie. The sugar will harden and crackle as it cools.
  • Let the brownie cool completely in the pan, then cut into squares.
  • To serve, place a brownie square on a preheated sizzler plate. Top with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and chopped nuts, if desired.
