Hire a Zoho Consultant Before Your CRM Implementation

by CRM Socius Consultant
Well, a Zoho CRM implementation can be a huge investment for any business. For many companies, the whole realm of CRM is a mystery and implementation process is set-up and executed arms-length from company management and stakeholders.

The ultimate result in higher implementation costs, lower acceptance levels and corporate in-fighting. It’s important for companies to undertake ZOHO CRM implementation and they should understand and engage in the process.

Basically, every implementation involves the same phases such as:

  • Discovery
  • Installation
  • Customization
  • Data migration
  • Training

Each implementation has its unique twists but the process will follow the same pattern. In fact, a proactive company can do a lot of groundwork before the implementation. And one of the biggest mistakes companies makes it to rely too much on the consultants. They take the view that their only role is to approve work and sign the cheques.

However, they were more involved, they would be signing smaller cheques and increase likelihood that the implementation will be successful. There are many ways for a company to eliminate work that a ZOHO CRM consulting company will charge significant dollars to do.

Discovery phase is an important opportunity for a company to take charge and dictate the direction of whole process. Many companies are surprisingly passive during the phase. And they let the ZOHO consultant determine every aspect of the Discovery without question.

A company can do a lot of pre-work to cut the costs of phase and control the CRM implementation path. Information gathered during the discovery phase will dictate the nature of business processes which are built into ZOHO CRM. Other than this, they also dictate the role of each user as well as their security permissions, the nature and degree of customization and which data gets migrated.

All this is flows through to the end-user training and has an important impact on the number of licenses which are needed.

Well, one of the simplest and crucial activities that a company can do for itself is to properly document the processes that they hope the CRM implementation will capture. It should start with meetings with the relevant stakeholders and end users. It should reveal the smallest detail of each process. And there should also be an opportunity to streamline processes.

As soon as the process are documented, it will become apparent among other things what data needs to be tracked, which fields need to be migrated from legacy systems, what other applications need to be integrated with ZOHO CRM for which users need to have license and what type of security should be granted to them.
