A temperature
logger is a data logger that has been optimized for temperature probes,
sensors & sometimes humidity sensors as well. These electronic devices consist of 2 elements, the sensor or sensors & a
recording system that reads & saves recordings on the sensor at
predetermined intervals. They are capable of storing number of measurements
which is needed in some cases where extended periods of measurements are needed
to determine long-term trends.
What are temperature
loggers used for?
There are a
variety of uses for temperature loggers, ranging from sterilizing procedures
for surgical equipment to aquariums or monitoring the health of a river.
This also
depends on how high or low that particular temperature logger can go. For
instance, Hioki’s LR5011 temperature logger is lightweight & pocket-sized,
with an extensive measurement range of -40°C to 180°C. This also depends on the
measurement range of the sensor there are additional instruments that can
beconnected to the logger for users to add on according to their usage. It also
has anIP54 splash-proof rating & can with stand operations in highly humid
environments Such as
kitchen & pipe rooms.
Key features
of Hioki’s LR5011 Temperature Loggers
- Light weight
& pocket-sized. It can be easily mounted in tight spaces due to its size;
measuring approximately 79mm in width, 57mm in height, 28mm in diameter & weighs
only at 105g. Suitablefor home, office, factory & warehouse environments.
Attachment holes are providedto a surface with a screw, stand, or strap.
- Easy-to-see
Dual display Dual displays are available for users to view the minimum & maximum
temperature and humidity levels on the spot
- Logs
temperatures as quickly as 1-second intervals over 1 channel, with 2recording
modes to choose from Instantaneous recording which records at every recording
interval or statistical value Recording where the device measures at one-second
intervals & records the Instantaneous, maximum, minimum & average
values within every recording interval. Do note that settings cannot be changed
while the device is recording.
- An
approximate of 2 years life span:- Instantaneous recording, with a 1-minute
interval and auto power saving, at 20 °C will last approximately 2 years, while
Instantaneous recording, with a 1-secondinterval at 20 °C, will last
approximately 2 months. Power saving mode will be enabled after no operation
occurs for 30 seconds. Actual battery life will vary depending on capacity,
charging conditions & repeated usage of the device.
- Measurement
data preservation:- When the battery power is low, the recorded data & setting
conditions are automatically backed up. During the battery replacement, a
guarantee of about 30 seconds of recording operation & clock function will
also be available.
- Automatic
back-up:- An automatic back-up setting is available to preserve your previous
recorded data ifa new measurement has been started by mistake. After the
battery is depleted, data & settings will be retained in the logger as
well.
- Recording
60,000 data per channel:- This is 7 times more capacity compared to our
previous models. Instantaneous valuemode: 60,000 data, Statistical value mode:
15,000 data
- Transferable
data to PC during recording:- A Communication Adapter LR5091 or Data Collector
LR5092-20 will be necessary fordata transfer from the logger to the PC.
Transferred data can be combined with previously transferred data for
comparison, from the same logger unit into one dataon the PC. On the software
used, the users can use the A/B cursors to select & view any location of a
graph & display its value, as well as calculate the maximum, minimum & average
values between the A & B cursors. Data will not be deleted when the program
is updating or uninstalled.
- Record
without missing fluctuations in STAT mode:- With the instantaneous value
recording at long intervals, there’s a chance detailedfluctuations occurring
within the intervals are overlooked. However, in the statisticalvalue recording
mode, detailed fluctuations are captured even when they areoccurring during
long recording intervals. In STAT mode, the measurement is takenevery second
& the maximum, minimum, average, & instantaneous values within
thespecified intervals are recorded. This feature cannot be selected when the
recordinginterval is set to one second.
